Open Question: How do you “fall out of love” with a person? Is it possible? Could someone share their story?
I have been with my boyfriend for 5 years. We met when he was 23 and I was 18. We started off really heavy and moved in after only a couple months of knowing each other. We got into so many arguments with each other for the simple fact that he did something I didn’t like, or I did something he didn’t like… We sort of always found a way to move past it because I think both of us liked the companionship and we did make a good “team”…. we are best friends! I just think that if we had spent more time getting to know one another, we would have never have dated! I was just young, immature and naive. We have stuck together because we have mutual ties. We are signed on a lease together, I cosigned on his truck…. He even supports me some what while I am going through school. He pays the rent and utilities. I give him a small amount of money, but I also cover all my own personal bills like car, gas, insurance, phone. Now I feel guilty because I feel like I have fallen out of love with him, and I don’t like that he is helping me out so much. I don’t like to feel like I am using him. I have tried to talk it out with him and get him to see where I am coming from, but he gets angry… We haven’t had sex in almost a month, and when we do, it is like one time a week, if that. It isn’t even that great either. I have so much love for him, but when I think about the father or my kids, he really embodies nothing that I would like to instill in my children. He doesn’t enjoy things I enjoy, and I don’t enjoy things he does. He has tried to cahnge me, and me tried to change him. It is just that we don’t want to be alone. And I know he probably does love me deeply, but I don’t feel that he is in love with me. It is just a feeling, I can’t describe it. Why can’t he just accept the things I am telling him. He makes me feel like I am stranding him. He pays most of the bills, with the exception of th 100 I give him a month! I don’t feel bad for leaving him with the apartment because he can afford it, and I know it. I just don’t want him to do anything stupid with the truck out of anger…. And I am tired of feeling trapped in this situation. I know I can’t afford the lifestyle he wants to live, and I have stuck around hoping that feeling would come back… but here we are at 5 years, and nothing still….. This really is hard. Especailly because if I go back to my family, they live 10 hours away. He is a great guy, but just not for me! I wish he could see that! How can I make him see that I am not trying to hurt him by leaving, but that I will be doing us both a favor?
And it is so especailly confusing because I do still love him very much. And it is hard to pull yourself away when you do love someone still.

FriendFeed I’m playing “review the finances” today. Always a mixture of fun and frustration… There are two debts that I’m debating paying off in full, to free up the cash they take every month. Yes, I know all the gurus say now isn’t the time to pay off debt. They also said I bought a house at the wrong time & so far that’s proved wrong, so they can #suckit

FriendFeed Does it bother anybody else how Obama constantly talks about how his plan is to help “working Americans.” So are people who make $150,000 a year or more (or whatever the current cut off is now) NOT working Americans? Seems to me, most of these people are among some of the hardest working Americans we have!

FriendFeed Something I’ve never understood: taking money from the populous voluntarily via taxes (and it is voluntary, you chose to live in the US) and distributing it amongst a large portion of the populous = bad. Taking money from the populous voluntarily via spending and redistributing that money to a microscopic portion of the populous = good *confused*
