Open Question: Why the hell did my CA Drivers License get suspended?
Here it is: May 2008 Got nabbed for doing 80 on an LA County Freeway (just going with the flow!) My fine was $800 and I paid it, the superior court cashed it-I have the WAMU image proof of the check dated July 2008–and I even received a letter from The Superior Court of California saying they got my payment and were now granting me the opportunity to take traffic school. I Did everything I was supposed to but then started getting harassed by a collection agency for the $800 fine I had paid. Faxed and mailed all the proof and they left me alone for a while. Then in December I got another notice. I called, spoke to their rep, faxed it over again and she said it was straightened out. What a relief!
It is now July 2009 and time to renew my car insurance. My agent calls to say they can’t do it because my license was SUSPENDED in January ’09!!! OMG! WTF!
How and why is my license suspended for a fine I promptly paid? WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW?
And why the hell didn’t the DMV notify me of this little suspension?
Now I have to take a day off of work to go to the DMV, wait in a longass line and possibly drive way out to this joke of a courthouse who bungled this whole thing up.
Ticket was paid right away. Reciept by County given. Someone just overlooked it and never processed it in the database or something. GRR!
