Open Question: What would you choose: 1987 Mercedes 300SDL or 1987 190D 2.5?
I am the owner of a Lexus LS400 (excellent ride!), but I am not too happy with the price of insurance and the gas mileage it’s been giving me. I am considering to substitute it for a Mercedes diesel, but my choice is between these two models:

-1987 300SDL (OM603 engine, 117k miles)
-1987 190D 2.5 (OM602 engine, 158k miles)

My priorities are as follows:
-Durability and reliability, which leads us to…
-Overall cheaper to maintain and run (compared to the LS400)
-Gas mileage (MUST be over 25 mpg)
-Style (looking for something classy, spacious and elegant)

Feel free to tell me about your experiences with these cars and why I should pick one or the other (sorry, OM617 is out of the question). Please be detailed in your answers; thank you very much!

Open Question: Could this be considered harassment, or is it at least grounds for a restraining order? (Very long)?
Hi, I recently discovered that I am four weeks pregnant. I had a miscarriage in June and completely by surprise wound up pregnant again within a month. This was unplanned, but this baby is wanted, and the father and I are both trying to prepare for it appropriately. I am eighteen, and I live in a state where legal age is nineteen, however my baby’s father and I will both be nineteen within a couple of months, and well before the baby is born.

His mother has been causing quite a bit of problems for us. I understand how stressed she must be that her child is going to be a father at nineteen, however I feel that her response to our pregnancy could be considered harassment. My father is a lawyer, but I’m afraid to ask him because I still haven’t told him about the pregnancy, so here goes:

When his mother found out on Friday that I am expecting, she called me from his number, telling me that it was my fault that I had the miscarriage last time, that I will not keep her or my fiance from this baby, and that unless I wanted her to expose the pregnancy to everyone, I would do exactly as she said. She scheduled my doctor’s appointment without even asking me first if the date was okay.

Later, she became infatuated with my pregnancy. For the next two days, she closely monitored my every move, discouraging me from even riding in a car, or holding a child on my lap. She created a dietary chart, she forced me to go to the hospital (E.R.) for minor back pains completely unrelated to the pregnancy. She told me later that the reason that she was so over-bearing about the baby was that she’d been hoping to have another baby for some time now, but her tubes were tied and her husband won’t consent to another… She’d been looking into adoption, but she told me that this was just as much her child as if she had her own… Which was my first red flag.

I did not have the money on me at the time to pay the hospital bill, and if the bill had been sent to my house, my parents would find out before my father’s business trip… I’ve been planning to tell him about the pregnancy AFTER the business trip, because I know he stands to make or lose a great deal of money, and I do not want to distract him with something like this… Besides, he’ll respond better if I wait and tell him after the trip, and it only means waiting one week longer.

So anyway, his mother sent the hospital bill to her house, which I thanked her for. I did make it known to her that her over-bearingness made me a bit uncomfortable, but she continued to progress…

Last night, my fiance told me that my scheduled appointment was at 8:00 this morning, and I could not make it to that appointment, nor could I afford the appointment, and without my parents knowing, I am unable to use my insurance information. She informed me that she would be paying for my entire pregnancy. I told her that I appreciate the offer, but I would prefer to go to a free clinic for my first ultrasound and then my insurance would cover the pregnancy. She continued to protest, saying it was unfair of me not to go the appointment with the doctor that SHE scheduled, and I told her she never even checked with me. I told her while it was just as much my fiance’s baby as it is mine, it was my body… Not his, and not his mother’s and that I felt that she was controlling my pregnancy and me and my fiance. She told me I was a manipulative ***** and if I did not go to the doctor she would send the bill to my parents so that they would find out that I’m pregnant. She told me she would be forcing her son to break up with me and if he didn’t she would sue for visitation, if not custody.

When my man heard this, he told her to get off the phone with me and stay away from me, so she decided to hit him in the face three times. He pushed her hand away and she hit him again so he pushed her on the floor and tried to hold her flailing arms down, but she clawed her fingernails all over his face leaving incisions and scratch marks all over, which we took pictures of.

My fiance and I both agreed that she should not be a part of our child’s life, however she does have the right as a grandparent to sue for visitation if we cannot prove that it is not in the best interest of the child. However, I consider her phone calls harassment, which is ground for a restraining order.

My questions are, is this harassment? Is it grounds for a restraining order, preferably one that would last throughout my pregnancy? And even considering her violence toward her son, would she be able to obtain visitation or custody of the child? Please no rude answers, I really do need help and I appreciate your answers!
