Open Question: Direct line car insurance… cancelled policy?
Hi I have recently cancelled my car insurance with Direct Line.
I was advised that I have to send my certificate of motor insurance back to them, I have had loads of letters asking for this…. but no information of where to send it?
There was meant to be a prepaid envelope.
Does anyone know the address?

OK. im 34 years old. I moved out to my fathers place because i had to get away from a VERY abusive husband. My father needed someone to take care of his place as he is only home once every few months. My father is extremely religious. Im not but i go along with him cus i know it is important to him. I have been living here for about 8 months. i run the place here and pay the bills with his money. I offered to work but he wanted me to be able to stay at home with my young children. i am also trying to file for disability because i have a very bad heart. I did not know my dad as a child. in fact i met him for the first time when i was 22 years old. then we saw each other on and off after that. he was always trying to get me to move out here but until 8 months ago i never did. shortly after i got here he began with his religion. i delt with it. but now im dateing someone. he gets very jealous. He is always telling me that i need to prove to him that i respect him. he started off by telling me i could no longer see my boyfriend. He said if i continued he would kick me out. He also told me i could not have sex with him lol. so because i had no other place to go i agreed. to him i did. but after talking to the bf we decided to just keep our relationship low. then after a week my dad told me i could see him again. then my dad called him one night drunk and asked him direct if we were sleeping together. bf told him it was non of his bussiness. so once again my dad told me to move out. He knows i have no where to go but he told me to move in with the bf so atleast i would be getting paid for “it” every time dad gets mad at me he threatens to kick me out. take away money. and then tells me i dont love him enough. and that i should just do whatever he says cus he is my dad. one day my dad sent me an email. i dint get it cus i went over to my bf to help him split some wood. he threatend to kick me out then too. now this time i had some trouble with some renters. had to call the sherriff on them. dad found out. he think for some reason i left the kids with the renters and went out “partying” with the bf. infact i was at a girlfriends house for dinner with the kids. he has once again told me i must pack up. i have no vehicle. he told me that if i used his he would call it in stolen. even though he has let me use it for months and even put me on the insurance. how does he want me to leave? no where to go. three small kids. and no car. every time he does this he makes sure i cant use his money.
seems to me like a replay of the husband i had minus the beatings. the control. he knows im disabled. im on a list for a heart transplant. he knows i have nothing and uses that to his advantage.
is this abuse?? is there anything i can do? was told he cant just kick me out but i dont know. any thought?? please dont be mean.
Open Question: Can you get car insurance without having a direct debit card or credit card?
Im thinking of getting my first car this weekend but dont have a bank account to do the insurance, is there anyway of having car insurance and not pay by card?

For those of you with children: When did you let them ride bikes on streets without helmets (if you ever did)? I see tons of kids around their pre-teens riding bikes on streets around here sans helmet and without any knowledge of safety protocols/hand signals/etc. I’m just wondering if people from where I grew up cared more.
