Open Question: Why is my car insurance so high?
I’m a 26 y/o male with no accidents or tickets living in Florida. I have been with the same insurance company for 3-4 years now with no gaps but my premium is just too much. I am married, but my wife is not on my auto policy and even if she was-she also has no accidents or tickets. I am insuring a vehicle that I financed; it is an 07 Ford Sport-Trac and my premium is through the roof! Some insurance companies want over 1,200 for 6 months??!! When comparing to my friend that lives in the same house I do, he has the same year vehicle, has numerous points on his license, has the same exact auto plan that I picked yet he pays LESS for his insurance through State Farm who quoted me over 200 dollars more to insure my vehicle than his…What gives!??

I’ve had a quote for 100 less than my own. I pay a broker to search for the cheapest deals and I’ve found plenty cheaper than the quote they’ve given me. How come they haven’t found the cheaper ones or am I missing something?

I have my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. I graduated back in 2006 and still have not found a career yet. I currently work at a insurance company and work a 2nd job in retail and I still haven’t been able to purchase another car or a home and I’m almost 30. I am thinking of going back to school and getting a BSN in nursing because it seems like the only field guaranteed to pay is the medical field–however–I can’t stand the site of blood and guts. (Yuck)
I probably would only have to go to school about 2 1/2-3 years to get the degree, but can someone tell me exactly what happens once you get the degree? I heard something about you would have to do clinical and train in the hospital. I think I could take working around gynecology as a nurse in a doctor’s office maybe compared to working in a hospital…would clinicals/training have to be in the hospital? Give me the rundown please!!
