Open Question: Get documented answer from Insurance company?
I hit a curb 10 days ago and the insurance company has decided that the car is a total loss. They claimed that the reparis are more than 75% of the car’s value. I asked for the repair estimate and found that it came to 69%. After questioning their decision, they say they think the repairs will exceed 75% if they start the repairs and run into any additional items. I asked them to give me their findings and their final decision in writing for my reference and they are refusing to do that.
How should I go about this now?

Thanks in advance for your inputs.
Cheers!!!

Open Question: Auto insurance coverages?
I switched auto insurance companies recently, however, I purchased the new policy a couple months ago and was letting the old policy (different insurance carrier) to simply lapse. I was in an auto accident yesterday, not my fault and my car is totaled. I submitted a claim to my new insurance company yesterday and remembered about the old insurance company policy. This policy is still in force due to previous premium payments made till another 2 weeks, so I submitted a claim with that company as well. Will the settlement be the auto replacement value with both companies working together and sharing the costs, or should I push for each insurance company to settle with me individually? Or is it 1 accident so 1 insurance company, and it doesn’t matter if I have 2 insurance policies on the same vehicle?

Open Question: What happens after you have an accident in a rental car?
A few weeks ago, someone hit my car. While it’s in the shop, I have a rental.

the employee offered insurance for 30.00 a day. ( I didn’t take it. )

and this morning.. a rock hit the window. I hit a bump shortly after and the crack spread.

what happens now?

will the rental company ban me from renting again?

will my insurance go up?

will I have to pay a deductible?

will the ‘accident’ effect my previous claim?

I thought I could just pay out of pocket, but the windshield is 1 thousand alone!! and after market glass isn’t made because its a 2010.

what to do?!
I do have full ‘comprehensive auto insurance.’
I didn’t pay with a credit card.
Good to know.. but the woman who hit me has the same insurance as me, and they already declared the accident her fault.

1. Having multiple policies with a specific provider also attracts a considerable discount. That is, for example, if you get your auto insurance policy from the same provider that caters for your homeowners’ insurance.

Nevertheless, care has to be taken because that an insurance carrier offered you low rates for a policy doesn’t mean they will for another one. Comparison shop with quotes sites and, thereafter, discuss with your insurance agent. You will be sure of the better option for you when you take this step.

Would you like a more affordable rate for adequate coverage? Let’s look at some time-tested ways of achieving just that…

1. A multi-policy discount is one proven option to cut down your total insurance spend. That is, for instance, if you buy an auto policy from the same carrier that covers your homeowners’ insurance.

Howbeit, I must emphasize that you might NOT be saving as much as you could by changing to another insurer. Getting quotes and comparing offers out there with savings you’d make are very beneficial steps. This done, you’ll be be well equipped to say for sure if this would make you save a lot more.

2. There is A type of discount referred to as “good driver discount.” It’s for drivers who have not made claims for three years and more. But don’t be alarmed if your agent tells you your car insurance provider doesn’t give this discount.

Your agent must be made to see your displeasure with their refusal to offer you this discount
