Open Question: Have you ever been scammed/forced to buy insurance from a company called PPITC in SM malls?
They have well-dressed personnels that are positioned in some places in either SM Megamall or SM North Edsa.
To attract shoppers, they approaches them and ask them first if they already have a credit card. If they say yes, they will be be told that they can win special prizes like cars and or a big cash and sometimes assured free small giveaways like mug or wall clock just by trying out their simple game in their office.
If their victims took the bait, they will be led to the PPITC office, where other personnels will ask them questions and basically sweet talk them to buy insurance plans. Nothing really wrong with this practice…Except if you say no, they will repeat asking you questions over and over again about your life and if you want to be secure etc. If their salesperson failed, they will send in another one which they introduce as “their best”. They will let you know that a lot of popular celebrity people already bought one or several of their plans.
Even if you way you want to leave and forget about the special prize they promised, they will still insists and force you to listen on their presentations. It will come to a point when you feel you are threatened or scared and probably this is part of their “psychological attack” to force you to buy their products.
If you tell them you will think about it and ask for brochures/business portfolios/calling card, they will say they dont do that and the only way you can buy their plan is right that moment at that place.
Even if you show anger to the point that you begin shouting, they seem to be not bothered at all. The only way they will let you go is if you stopped answering to their questions and keep quiet, or literally storm out of the office.
This is one of the most despicable, shameless scammers operating out there…and its right inside at least two prominent SM Malls, where customers are supposed to be protected from these kinds of scoundrel.

They were not able to take hold of my credit card. I have my card for more than 10 years so I am not as naive as some people to just hand it over to somebody they dont trust in exchange for some “prize”.
My encounter with them actually happened last year. I almost forgot about it, until I went to SM North last night and saw the PPITC office full with new scammed folks, and for sure some of them ended up losing money whether they like it or not.
Open Question: Would my insurance company cover me if ihad an accident on the way to work? I was then going to use the car b?
I was on my way to work and shunted the car in front. I then carried on to my place of work. Later that morning i used my car to go from one work office to another. I do not have business insurance. I know i can use to my car to travel to work and home, without needing business insurance. My worry is the insurance company will find out thant i then used the car for work related purposes, and use this to wriggle out of paying the claim.
